Dance to the Music of Time
Oriel Môn / One-Person Exhibition
20 September to 2 November 2025
Images remembered, together with films, paintings and photographs I have seen, I usually select a few that move me to make into a painting.
“If a mind is like a railway station with trains of thought chugging in and out constantly, then the cargo of such in mine consists of memory, home, loves, wallpapers, flowers, perfumes and performers. From this plethora of images remembered, together with films, paintings and photographs I have seen, I usually select a few that move me to make into a painting. Out of the churn of mind comes the very stillness of a painting that delights me. Its tranquility is its grace. The woven and constructed image, in fact it’s very artifice becomes something that offers a new reality.”

CYFOES: Contemporary Welsh Art
The Riverside, Haverfordwest
12 April - 11 October 2025
CYFOES showcases one of my drawings , All Dressed Up and Nowhere to Go, as part of an exciting selection of new artworks from The National Library of Wales. The exhibition celebrates the Library’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity, highlighting its recent efforts to expand and enrich the collection to reflect experiences from all communities and backgrounds in Wales.
Gerda Roper’s drawings, small in scale and in a pencil monotone of many greys, are prompted by her experiences and inner thoughts. According to the artist ,…”in drawing there is something of the intimacy of handwriting, of things said quietly , perhaps in confidence ‘ This drawing was created during the Covid -19 lockdown in 2020.
Information about other exhibitions where my work has been shown is on the Exhibitions and Project page.
